I guess that year had problems with that so I've heard. These vehicles are the worst I've ever owned. Because I had more than 70k miles they said it will not be replaced. If it's they're too difficult to remove you need to suck off more solder. It works more then it doesnt work, and now not working and I ran out of gas. Is there a way to cover that?.
Took it in as warranty work but the service dept. Prices vary depending on exactly what services are performed light replacement, display repair, power failure repair, etc and whether shipping is involved. Now you simply need to pop your new where the old ones were, they will only install in one direction so you don't have to worry about mixing them up or getting it wrong. What if I have light bulbs out too?. It covered several years of and trucks. My oil pressure gage is not right.
The use can reset to English but the cluster will change the language randomly or simply scroll through the options endlessly. They have you print out an odometer disclaimer and ask for mileage and engine hours and program it in. Now the cluster can be removed for replacement or repair. Once the joint or component has failed power to the digital displays is lost causing a dead display or power is reduced causing a dim display. Make sure you get the correct part number when you buy your stepper motors see link above for correct parts.
Vehicle is a 2004 gmc Yukon My instrument cluster will intermittently quit working and all the warning lites come on, Bose radio goes out, door locks quit working and dic says unknown driver. Could not duplicate the issue. Thank you very much for taking the time to read my post. They're hiding behind a Judge's ruling that they only have to honor mileage up to 80k, anything beyond that they'll tell you to stick it. This has begun to be a big issue. It shows temp at 220, however the car is sitting in the driveway and has not been moved.
They have a bad part in or installed it wrong they need to fix it. The odometer was even frozen and not counting mileage. Has this concern only happened the one time? Place the circuit board back into the white center housing and snap on the black back housing. Any ideas to help fix this is appreciated. There is a how to on this forum that will show you how to replace it! If any of your gauges or odometer display fail, we will repair them again. Speedometer, we have the skills, experience, and equipment to repair them all. My guages quit working one at a time except the battery guage never had an issue. It used to happen daily. See pic of a damaged board. My suggestion is if you have a camera phone take pictures or video when it happens that way you can show the dealer. What if my whole cluster intermittently goes out at the same time, all the gauges and lights go out except the check engine light? My 03' cluster did the same thing.
I have seen hundreds of people reporting this problem on the local discussion boards. Gm refused any coverage of the cost. How much you will have to pay to fix it depends on your vehicle mileage when the part went out. When this happens the door chime will not come on when the door is opened with the key in the switch. I do not want to be on the side of the road. The vehicle had not been inspected when the complaint was filed. Only took about an hour and a half.
Again that's something a shop would need to look into, see my links above. A shorted actuator would cause a problem in the control head in the dash. Did some research on the subject. If the oil pressure sending unit checks out then you know the oil pressure gauge is bad and needs rebuilt. My dealer said they have to see it happen to figure it out so one time it happened during the day and I drove straight there and shut the car off and when they restarted it it didn't happen.
I'm having the same issue with my '09 Silverado and need to get it fixed before it dies for good. You might be curious if your Silverado speedometer problems may be caused by a faulty speed sensor or speedometer cable. I can be driving down the road and all of a sudden all the dash gauges light up at once. This problem typically starts with just one gauge but over time all the analog gauges will start displaying the same symptoms. Tach was at about 700 speedo was 0 temp 210 and so on. This section will outline all the most common problems that have been identified. Not sure if we have what you need? Take a dremel tool to the ground point and either hit the terminals and bolts with the dremel or replace them altogether.
